HoodieBooks is a social enterprise on a mission to improve reading and comprehension skills in the youth by providing hoodies and miniature books specifically for students and the youth. Their hoodies have custom pockets to carry mini books, and the mini book is designed to be less intimidating than a large book, like a textbook. HoodieBooks seeks to inspire young people to pick up a book and engage with exciting stories.
HoodieBooks had a strong product line, and they wanted to connect even more with their target audience. They sought an educational enrichment program focused around their products to improve education and reading levels in the youth by connecting with local schools and community partners. Their ultimate goal was to tackle learning loss and low reading levels in school districts with struggling students.
We developed an educational enrichment program focused on targeting the youth. This program was designed for use with HodieBooks’s current product line, including their books and clothing. We created all aspects of the program, including the curriculum, structure, and schedule.
The “Scholars Program” was created for HoodieBooks to increase reading and comprehension in youth living in low-income communities.
In addition to these programs, we also prepared HoodieBooks’s educational proposal to connect them with their ideal readers. This proposal was intended for them to pitch the programs to their external stakeholders.
Our collaboration with HoodieBooks led to the development of a comprehensive education enrichment program. Their program was approved and adopted by three school districts and communities, expanding HoodieBooks’s reach to their target readers.
